In VET

Padua, July 3, 2025 – The European project FSE ALMA – Aim, Learn, Master, Achieve has officially come to a close after four months of activities hosted in Padua by Xena – Centre for Intercultural Exchange and Dynamics, from February 4 to July 3, 2025.

A transformative opportunity

Targeting NEET youth (Not in Education, Employment or Training), the ALMA programme offers participants a structured path to social inclusion through international mobility, educational mentoring, and practical internship experiences in a new cultural context.

Local organisations as learning environments

The internships took place in diverse local settings with strong social and educational value:

– A cultural bar-cafeteria offering food and events;

– A community garden hosting concerts, social activities and outdoor events;

– An educational urban farm with direct sales of agricultural products and workshops for children;

– A large urban park with a sustainable gardening project.

👉 Activities ranged from food and beverage service to environmental education, logistics, maintenance and public interaction.
👉 The most visible change? An increase in autonomy, motivation, social skills and self-confidence.

Some participants initially faced challenges related to punctuality, autonomy or low motivation, but over time, each of them showed clear growth. Their progress was also recognised by local tutors and hosting organisations.

🗣️ “This was an experience that left a deep mark – not only professionally, but on a human level.”

We sincerely thank Taller d’Art, Cultura i Creació, our Catalan partner, and all the organisations in Padua that welcomed and supported the participants with dedication, creativity and care. 📌 The ALMA experience confirmed once again that well-supported mobility can be a powerful tool for inclusion and personal transformation
